The Lucknow Development Authority is getting ready to renovate the city's eleven main crossroads. Under this, the city's crossroads will undergo a Rs 10 crore renovation, which would involve moving the traffic-obstructing electric poles and traffic signal poles. In addition, the area will be beautified and the unlawful constructions surrounding the intersections will be taken down.
According to LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar, a survey of the city's eleven crossings and intersections—including Daliganj, Mawaiya, Alambagh, and Krishnanagar—has been carried out. The purpose of the survey was to improve traffic flow at these crossings. The design of these intersections will be modified and enhanced in accordance with the survey report.
The traffic island and roundabout (rotary) will be modified in some locations. Security arrangements will be provided in accordance with Indian Road Congress guidelines. This will greatly alleviate the traffic congestion issue for city dwellers and maintain smooth flow on these crossings even during peak hours.
Sarvodaya Nagar Tiraha, Daliganj Tiraha, Mawaiya crossing, Everready Tiraha, IIM Road-Green Corridor Tiraha, Alambagh Tiraha, Madhurima Tiraha at Vibhuti Khand, Piccadilly Tiraha, Krishnanagar crossing, Narora crossing near the Agra Motorway and Koneshwar crossing at Chowk are among the crossings that LDA will renovate. According to the news, work on these intersections will begin in December, and tenders for their repair will be released this month.
