Visit The Annual 10-Day Maati Kala Mela To Light Up Your Diwali

The festive season is upon us! While the list of chores is endless, your hunt for the perfect décor pieces this season shouldn’t be. This year, visit the Maati Kala Mela, the annual pre-Diwali fair in Lucknow from October 21 and get beautiful decorations for your home.

Organized as a 10-day exhibition every year by the U.P. Maati Kala Board, the event promotes artisans from various districts of the state. Be it diyas, idols, handicrafts or the beautiful decorative items that brighten homes, this fair has everything you’re looking for this Diwali.

Displaying the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh will be stunning creations like terracotta from Gorakhpur, earthen cooker from Khajuraho, clay products from Agra, Lucknow, Mirzapur, Azamgarh, Chandauli, Unnao, Balla, Kanpur, Pilibhit, Allahabad, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Banda and black pottery from Azamgarh.

The fair is nothing short of a festive aesthetic display. From idols in all sizes to handcrafted clay products, the quality of each product will blow your minds away. Not just this, every year, the fair has craftsmen demonstrating their skills live on the wheel so that you can learn a thing or two too.

For the aspiring artists, there is also a three-day training programme in the process of clay making.
